"Recently moved to Virginia Beach and I was worried about finding an honest, reputable auto service center. My vehicle has one of those notorious for breaking GM 3.6l V6 engines in it btw. My check engine light came on and I got the error code P00008. Looking it up I read that it was most likely a timing chain problem and we all know that gets expensive fast thanks to GM failures to design that engine BETTER. ANYWAY....I didn't want to drive the vehicle another mile until I had it looked at and did some research online looking for a local mechanic. Protime came up to of the list and after reading many of the reviews I decided to give them a shot. Called them up and same day they took my vehicle in to see what problem/s (GM hahaha) it had. I told them when I dropped it off it could very well be the timing chain and was prepared for the worst. I got a phone call from them later and surprisingly they told me it was an oil issue and the lack thereof (my bad) in the vehicle. They did an oil change and drove the vehicle and the light was gone. They also checked and replaced the oil pressure sensor as it was not working properly. They did the needed Virginia inspection on it for me, fixed what needed fixing and through their honesty now have a permanent customer. Many shops knowing in advance that I expected a major repair to be done would have probably taken advantage of that and forced me into a corner. The guys at Protime did not do that, were upfront honest and yes, eventually I will need to get the timing chains replaced...(THANKS GM) and gave me then and there a quote on that job. Honestly it seemed high but when the day comes I need the job done, I'll have Protime do it. Just because of my great experience with them. You pay for quality and that's okay with me. So thanks for everything. You will be seeing me again."

While waiting, I was busy taking care of some personal paper work. However, I was still able to overhear some of the conversation that went on between other clients and your management staff. Beyond question, I have never heard a more "honest" and detailed appraisal of what was the matter with the persons car, as well as what it would take to repair the problem--and in my case the assessment went even further. After the work on my car was complete, I was told that another problem I'd ask about should be reconsidered. I was told that the professional opinion on that matter was that the cost of the repair far out weighed the benefit, and therefore, since safety wasn't an issue, the repair wasn't advisable! Though I'm sure other automotive shops are as honest with their customers, sad to say, that hasn't ever been my experience, so obviously, I'll continue using your shop as my only service provider. I took several business card with me and will be passing them out. As for a way of improvement? Here's my only suggestion... Though your company logo is quite attractive, I would suggest "pens" with you name, address and phone number as an alternative to the keychains I saw displayed. Personally, as I said, I think your logo is clean and attractive, but inexpensive logo pens would be seen and travel throughout the the general population much faster then any keychain!"
